My Breeding Standards
Selective Pairing for Health and Genetics
I carefully select breeding pairs based on genetic diversity, physical health, and temperament. All breeding cats are screened for hereditary conditions common in Maine Coons, such as HCM, SMA, and PKDef. Only cats with clean genetic health panels and strong lineage are considered for breeding.
Focus on Temperament and Behavior
Temperament is just as important as physical traits. I only breed cats that are affectionate, well-adjusted, and display the classic Maine Coon personality—confident, gentle, playful, and social. Kittens inherit a stable foundation from their parents, both genetically and behaviorally.
Veterinary Supervision and Health Monitoring
All breeding cats are under the regular care of a licensed veterinarian. They receive annual wellness exams, vaccines, parasite prevention, and regular bloodwork as needed. Kittens are also vet-checked before going to new homes, ensuring a healthy start to life.
No Early Breeding
I do not breed young or immature cats. Females are bred only after they are fully developed—usually around 18 months to 2 years of age. Males are also given time to mature physically and emotionally before being used in my breeding program.
Limited Litter Frequency
I prioritize the health and recovery of my queens by limiting how often they are bred. Each queen has ample time to rest between litters, and I do not overbreed. This reduces stress on the mother and supports the health and vitality of her kittens.
Clean, Enriched Breeding Environment
All cats are raised in a clean, safe, and enriching indoor environment. They are socialized from birth, exposed to household sounds, handling, and human interaction. This early development promotes confident, well-adjusted kittens.
Transparency and Documentation
Buyers receive a complete package including health records, vaccination history, pedigree information, and proof of genetic testing for the parents. I am transparent about my breeding practices and happy to answer any questions about lineage, care, or health protocols.
Ethical Practices and Lifetime Responsibility
I adhere to ethical breeding practices, placing the well-being of my cats above all. I do not support irresponsible breeding, kitten mills, or profit-driven practices. Every kitten is placed with a contract that includes return-to-breeder terms, and I remain available for lifetime support.
